SEO as a subscription: something goes live on your website every week, the price is fixed up front, and you can cancel monthly. No ranking promises – just numbers you can check in your own Search Console.

DeNitro is an SEO agency for Hamburg and the wider DACH region: we do search engine optimization as a fixed-price subscription – 490, 890 or 1,490 € a month, plus a one-time 990 € Startsprint. Every Friday an improvement goes live on your website: technical fixes, better pages, new content. The subscription can be canceled monthly, is for businesses only, and requires a website on WordPress, Webflow or Shopify. Founder Denys Mor does the work, and you message him directly.

No twelve-month contract, no timesheets, no ranking promises. Instead: a fixed rhythm and numbers you can verify yourself.

What SEO work actually consists of

Search engine optimization sounds like secret knowledge. In practice it is a list of tasks in four areas. Very few websites are stuck in traffic because of one big mistake – it is usually thirty small ones.

Technical: can Google read your pages?

Before a page can rank, Google has to find it, load it and understand it. That means clean redirects, a current sitemap, unambiguous canonicals, short load times on mobile, and structured data. No visitor ever sees technical SEO. When it is missing, the best copy does not help.

For companies entering the German market there is one more layer: language versions. If your German and English pages are not linked to each other correctly with hreflang, Google may show the wrong version to the wrong audience – or treat the two as duplicates.

Content: is there a page for the question?

Google ranks pages, not websites. Someone searching for "tax advisor Hamburg e-commerce" gets the page that answers exactly that – not the home page of a firm where the phrase appears once. That is why every service you earn money with needs its own page: the search query in the headline, the answer in the first paragraph, a price range, frequent questions.

We know this mistake from our own website. Our SEO review of September 24, 2026 named one root cause for too little search traffic: denitro.de did not have a single service page. The page you are reading is part of the fix.

One point that English-speaking teams often underestimate: your German customers search in German. A translated English page rarely matches the words they actually type. Pages for the German market need to be written in German, around German queries.

Local: are you found in your city?

For businesses with a fixed catchment area, local search decides – the map, the business profile, the reviews. What that means in Hamburg is covered in its own section below.

Google trusts pages that others refer to. One link from a chamber of commerce, an industry directory, a partner or the local press outweighs a hundred purchased ones.

Here is the honest limit: active link building is not part of the subscription. Inside the subscription we make sure your website has content worth linking to, and that name, address and services read the same on every page. If you need more, we talk about a larger package in the intro call.

How SEO runs in the subscription: points, not hours

  1. Startsprint, two weeks. We connect Search Console and Analytics, measure the baseline and fix the five biggest bottlenecks. After that, 30+ findings are waiting on your board.
  2. You send a message. No brief, no form. If nothing comes to mind, we work through the board – we bring the tasks.
  3. Friday is delivery day. Something goes live every week, along with a one-minute video: what was done and what it gets you.
  4. You leave whenever you want. Cancellation takes effect at month-end; one message is enough.

Work is sized in points, not hours. You see up front what a task costs:

  • 1 point: text or image change, small fix
  • 2 points: load time of one page in the green · meta, headings and schema for 5 pages · blog post of 900–1,200 words · new section on a page · A/B test of a headline or button
  • 4 points: new service page or landing page · redesign of an existing page

Unused points stay valid for one more month.

How long does SEO take?

A realistic horizon is three to six months. Nobody who does the math honestly will guarantee you a position.

What to expect, and when:

  • First weeks: technical errors are fixed, pages load faster, titles and headings match the search query. You see that on the website right away, not yet in the numbers.
  • One to three months: Google has re-read the changed pages. In Search Console, impressions rise first, then clicks.
  • Three to six months: new service pages and articles settle into their positions. From here on you can judge which topics carry.

It takes longer with a young domain, in competitive industries and when hardly anyone links to you. We tell you that up front, not after half a year.

Local SEO for Hamburg

Hamburg has seven boroughs and more than a hundred districts – and people search by district. "Physiotherapie Eimsbüttel", "Elektriker Harburg", "Steuerberater Altona": if you only optimize for "Hamburg", you give away the inquiries from next door. Above the regular results, searches like these usually show the map box with three entries. That is where local SEO is decided.

Three things count:

  • The Google Business Profile. Category, services, opening hours, photos, replies to reviews. The profile belongs to you and stays in your account.
  • The same data everywhere. Name, address and phone number must be identical on the website, in the profile and in directories.
  • The website behind it. One page per service, the service area in plain words, structured data of the LocalBusiness type. This is the part we implement inside the subscription.

What we advise against: dozens of near-identical district pages for places where you do not actually work. They fill the sitemap and help no customer. Our guide to local SEO for small businesses in Germany walks through the basics step by step.

If you serve Hamburg from the surrounding area – Norderstedt, Pinneberg, Ahrensburg, Buxtehude – you know the problem: Google assigns you to your address, not to your market. We are in the same position. In that case the service area and the locations have to be stated unmistakably on the page and in the structured data. In the client project M&Y Haus und Garten, Jork and Buxtehude are therefore marked up as separate places, along with the service area and the service catalog.

SEO and GEO: one lane, two destinations

Your customers no longer ask only Google. They ask ChatGPT or Perplexity, or read the AI answer above the search results. On our own website, ChatGPT was the strongest traffic source in September 2026: 16 sessions versus 7 from Google Search (Google Analytics, as of September 24, 2026). Small numbers, clear direction.

That does not mean double the work. AI systems pull current answers from the search index. A page with a clear answer in the first paragraph, clean schema and a visible FAQ works in both worlds. What goes beyond that – open access for AI crawlers, quotable statements, measuring inside the AI systems themselves – is described on our GEO agency page.

How we measure success

Rankings are an intermediate value. You get paid in inquiries. So we look at three levels:

  1. Search Console: impressions, clicks and position – per query and per page. Searches for your company name should be counted separately: someone who already knows you is not an SEO win.
  2. Analytics: which pages bring visitors who stay? Does anyone arrive via ChatGPT or Perplexity?
  3. Inquiries: form, phone call, booking. Only once they are counted as events can you say which page brings in money.

You get the report with numbers every month, and every two weeks on the Team plan. The logins belong to you. You can look up every number in your own Search Console. Before a page goes live, it is worth running it against our on-page SEO checklist.

And if visitors come but nobody gets in touch, the ranking is rarely the problem. Then it pays to look at the page itself – which is the job of our web design agency for Hamburg.

How to recognize a bad SEO offer

  • A ranking guarantee. Nobody can promise "number one in 90 days." Those who do often mean search terms nobody searches for.
  • A long term with no exit. Twelve or 24 months before you have seen a result.
  • The data sits with the agency. Search Console, Analytics and the business profile belong in your account. Otherwise you start from zero when you switch.
  • Reports without a source. A "visibility index" with no explanation of where the number comes from.
  • Link packages. "50 backlinks a month" usually means directories and link networks – ineffective at best.
  • The price is nowhere to be found. If it only comes up after three meetings, it is often sized to your budget.

Who the subscription is not for

  • Your website runs on Wix, Jimdo, Typo3 or a custom build.
  • You are booking as a private individual. The subscription is for businesses only.
  • You need a completely new website first. Then website creation is the right lane.
  • You mainly want link building, PR or ad campaigns.
  • You need a full order book within four weeks. SEO does not deliver that.

/ Questions

How much does an SEO agency in Hamburg cost?

Ongoing SEO for small and mid-sized companies in Germany typically runs roughly 1,500 to 4,000 € a month, with basic local SEO starting at around 500 €. At DeNitro, SEO runs inside the website subscription for 490, 890 or 1,490 € a month, plus a one-time Startsprint for 990 €. No VAT is charged (§ 19 UStG, small-business rule).

How long does SEO take to work?

Technical fixes go live within days, and Google usually needs a few weeks after that to re-evaluate the pages. For new pages and competitive searches, three to six months is a realistic horizon. A young domain that few other websites link to tends to take longer.

Do you guarantee a number-one ranking on Google?

No. Google assigns positions, not the agency – anyone who guarantees a ranking is promising something they do not control. What is fixed is the work: a delivery every week and a report with numbers every month.

Which SEO work is included in the subscription, and which is not?

Included is the implementation on your website: technical fixes, load time, meta data, headings and schema, new service pages, blog posts and redesigns of existing pages. Not included are strategy and keyword research, link building and ad campaigns. There is a larger package for that, which we discuss in the intro call.

Is DeNitro located in Hamburg?

The business address is in Buxtehude, southwest of Hamburg. Our market is the Hamburg area, and the work is done remotely – also for companies elsewhere in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Do I also need GEO, meaning optimization for ChatGPT and other AI tools?

SEO is the foundation: ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews draw on the search index for current questions. GEO adds clear, quotable statements, schema markup and open access for AI crawlers. Clean SEO already covers a large part of that.

Which platforms do you work on?

Inside the subscription: WordPress, Webflow and Shopify. We do not offer the subscription on Wix, Jimdo, Typo3 or custom-built sites, because we cannot keep up the pace there.

Who does the work, and how do I get out?

Denys Mor, founder of DeNitro, does the work – you message him directly, with no project manager in between. You cancel with one message, effective at the end of the month; there is no minimum term. Website, logins and data stay with you.
