Your customers no longer ask only Google. They ask an AI – and it names three providers. We work on making you one of them, and we measure whether it works.

DeNitro is a GEO agency – GEO stands for generative engine optimization – for companies in the Hamburg area and across Germany, Austria and Switzerland. We work on getting AI systems such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews to understand your company, describe it correctly and name it in their answers. The implementation runs inside our website subscription: 490, 890 or 1,490 € a month plus a one-time 990 € Startsprint, cancelable monthly, for businesses with a website on WordPress, Webflow or Shopify.

When someone asks "Which agency in Hamburg can rebuild our website?" or "Which tax advisor knows e-commerce?", they increasingly type it into ChatGPT or Perplexity, or get the answer straight from Google AI Overviews. The answer contains two or three names. No directory, no ten blue links.

As a GEO agency, we work on getting your name into those answers – and check every month whether it is there.

Why AI search visibility matters now

Search is not going to shift at some point. It is shifting now. We see it on our own site: in September 2026, more visits to denitro.de came from ChatGPT than from Google Search – 16 sessions versus 7, according to Google Analytics (as of September 24, 2026). Small numbers, but the direction is unmistakable.

The important part: someone who arrives through an AI recommendation has already done the comparison. The AI named three providers, and you were one of them. Inquiries like that are warmer than a click on position seven in Google.

The reverse is also true. If you are missing from the answer, you do not exist for that question – no matter how good the website looks.

What GEO is – in two sentences

Generative engine optimization is the work of getting generative AI systems to understand your company, trust it and cite it. SEO optimizes for a position in a list; GEO optimizes for a place in an answer.

You need both, because ChatGPT and Google AI fall back on the search index for current questions. Without an SEO foundation there is no AI visibility – which is why GEO and the work of our SEO agency for Hamburg run on the same lane.

What we do as a GEO agency

We work in five places. None of them is magic; all of them are craft.

1. Clear statements instead of marketing prose

A model can only quote what it understands unambiguously. We write services, responsibilities, location and price range as plain sentences: who you are, what you do, for whom, where, on what terms. For people, the tone barely changes. For machines, everything does.

2. Machine-readable structure

We also store the key facts as schema markup – Organization, LocalBusiness, Service, FAQPage – and make sure every page has a clean structure with one unambiguous answer in its first paragraph. Schema is part of technical SEO; for AI systems it is the shortest route to a fact.

3. Open access for AI crawlers

Many sites lock out GPTBot, PerplexityBot or Google-Extended by accident: through robots.txt, a CDN setting or a firewall rule nobody ever questioned. We check the access, open it deliberately and add an llms.txt that points to the pages that explain your offer best.

4. Content for the questions people ask an AI

People type whole sentences into an AI, not keywords. We collect the questions your customers really ask and answer them on your site in exactly that form: the question as the heading, the answer in the first sentence, the details after that. The basics every such page has to meet are in our on-page SEO checklist.

5. Mentions and consistent sources

Models trust what others say about you. Industry directories, trade portals, reviews, partner pages, press: your name should appear there with the same facts as on your website. Contradictory addresses, outdated services or two company names cost visibility. Straightening that out is the least spectacular and often the most effective work.

One limit, stated plainly: correcting facts is one thing, actively building new mentions and links is another. Link building is not part of the subscription. There is a larger package for that, which we discuss in the intro call.

How we measure whether it works

We do not invent a visibility score. We ask the AI systems the same questions your customers ask and record who gets named.

  1. Question catalog: 20 to 40 questions a customer would ask before buying – with and without a location.
  2. Query run: in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, every month with the same questions.
  3. Evaluation: Are you named? In which position? With which facts? Who appears in your place?
  4. Control: a well-known brand from your industry always runs alongside. If it is not recognized, the measurement is broken, not your visibility.

On top of that come the hard numbers from Google Analytics and Search Console: visits from chatgpt.com, perplexity.ai and others, and what those visitors do on your site.

A model's answer is not a ranking. It changes from day to day and from question to question – which is why we report named-or-not per question, with a date, instead of a single score.

How the work runs

Week 1 – inventory. Crawler access, schema, content, entries on third-party sites, a first measurement with the question catalog. You get a list: what is missing, what contradicts itself, what brings the most.

Weeks 2–3 – foundation. We implement the technical items, write the most important pages clearly, set up llms.txt and schema, and correct the entries we can change ourselves.

After that – ongoing. New content along the question catalog and a monthly measurement. No twelve-month contract: you see every month what is moving, and then decide.

What it costs

The implementation on your website runs in the subscription and is sized in points, not hours:

TaskPoints
Small fix, for example a robots.txt rule or a corrected fact1
Meta, headings and schema for 5 pages2
Article of 900–1,200 words answering a customer question2
New section on a page, for example a visible FAQ2
New service page or landing page4

The Start plan includes 4 points a month for 490 €, Growth 8 points for 890 €, Team 14 points for 1,490 €. Something goes live every Friday. All plans and the one-time 990 € Startsprint are listed on the pricing page.

GEO for the German-speaking market

If you sell in Germany, Austria or Switzerland from an English-speaking team, three things are worth knowing:

  • Your buyers ask in German. A German managing director asks an AI in German and gets an answer built from German-language sources. If the only clear description of your company is in English, the model has to translate and guess. The pages that should be quoted need to exist in German.
  • The legal notice is a fact source. Company name, address and contact details in the Impressum must match what directories and profiles say about you. Mismatches are exactly the contradictions models stumble over.
  • Local questions get local answers. "Who is good for … near me?" is answered from map data, profiles and location pages. This is where GEO meets local SEO; our guide to local SEO for small businesses in Germany covers the groundwork.

One example from our client work: for M&Y Haus und Garten, an owner-run property and garden service in Jork and Buxtehude, both locations sit in the structured data as separate places – so that local search and AI answers place the business correctly.

Who GEO pays off for

  • Service providers with a consulting-heavy offer – agencies, law firms, tax advisors, IT service providers. Their customers are especially likely to ask an AI for advice before contacting anyone.
  • B2B providers whose offer needs explaining, whose buyers compare providers before they get in touch.
  • Local businesses in Hamburg and other cities, where "Who is good for … near me?" is the typical question.

GEO makes less sense as long as the website itself is not technically clean or the offer cannot be stated clearly. Then we start there – and if the site needs more than repairs, our web design agency for Hamburg is the right first stop.

What GEO cannot do

Honestly: nobody can guarantee that ChatGPT will recommend you tomorrow. The models change, the answers fluctuate, and part of the signals lie outside your website. Anyone who sells you a guarantee or an exact "AI ranking position" is selling you a number they made up themselves.

What we commit to: the work on the five levers above, a measurement you can follow, and a monthly report on which questions you are named for and which not yet.

GEO agency for Hamburg – and the whole DACH region

DeNitro works for companies in the Hamburg area and combines three things that belong together in GEO: web design, SEO and AI automation. We work on the website that is supposed to be found, we write the content for German searchers in German, and the measurement runs automated. Your contact is founder Denys Mor – you message him directly.

We work remotely for companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. If you want to know whether and how ChatGPT and the others name you today, we look at it together in a free intro call – 15 minutes.

/ Questions

What does a GEO agency do?

A GEO agency (generative engine optimization) works on getting AI systems such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews to know your company, classify it correctly and name it in their answers. That includes clear, quotable content, schema markup, open access for AI crawlers, consistent facts on third-party sites, and regular measurement of whether the models actually recommend you.

Does GEO replace classic SEO?

No. ChatGPT searches the web for current questions, and Google AI Overviews builds on the Google index. A company that cannot be found in regular search rarely ends up in an AI answer. GEO builds on clean SEO and adds what language models need on top.

How much does a GEO agency cost?

Published GEO retainers at agencies typically start in the low four figures per month and go far higher. At DeNitro, the implementation runs inside the website subscription for 490, 890 or 1,490 € a month, plus a one-time Startsprint for 990 €. No VAT is charged (§ 19 UStG, small-business rule).

How fast does GEO work?

Technical items such as crawler access, schema and llms.txt are live within a few days. Whether models name you depends on when they re-read your pages and the pages about you. Realistically, the first measurable changes show after six to twelve weeks.

Can you guarantee that ChatGPT will recommend my company?

No, and nobody can do that seriously. The models' answers change constantly. What we commit to is the work and the measurement: every month you see which questions you are named for and which not yet.

What is llms.txt, and do I need one?

llms.txt is a plain text file that points AI systems to the pages that explain your offer best. It is a proposed convention, not a standard that every system reads. It takes little effort, so we set it up – but it does not replace pages that crawlers can open and understand.

Do you only work in Hamburg?

No. Our business address is in Buxtehude, southwest of Hamburg, and we work remotely for companies across Germany, Austria and Switzerland. For local businesses in the Hamburg area we combine GEO with local SEO and the Google Business Profile.
